is the term used for alloys of copper and zinc; the
proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to
create a range of brasses, each of which has unique
properties[1]. Note that in comparison bronze is
principally an alloy of copper and tin.[2]. Despite
this distinction, some types of brasses are called
bronzes. Brass is a substitutional alloy. Brass has
a yellow color, somewhat similar to gold. It is
relatively resistant to tarnishing, and is often
used as decoration and for coins.
Brass has been known to humans since prehistoric
times, long before zinc itself was discovered. It
was produced by melting copper together with
calamine, a zinc ore. During this process, the zinc
is extracted from the calamine and mixes with the
copper. Pure zinc, on the other hand, is too
reactive to have been produced by ancient
metalworking techniques. Brass is mainly used for
decorative, plumbing and electrical applications.

Marble
Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from the
metamorphism of limestone, composed mostly of
calcite (a crystalline form of calcium carbonate,
CaCO3). It is extensively used for sculpture, as a
building material, and in many other applications.
The word 'marble' is colloquially used to refer to
many other stones that are capable of taking a high
polish.
Faux marble or faux marbling is a wall painting
technique that imitates the color patterns of real
marble (not to be confused with paper marbling).
Marble dust can be combined with cement or synthetic
resins to make reconstituted or cultured marble.
Painting
Painting as an art form has flourished in India
from very early periods as is evident from literary
sources and also from the remnants that have been
discovered. Indian Paintings can be broadly
classified as the murals & miniatures. Murals are
huge works executed on the walls of solid
structures. Classic examples are the paintings in
Ajantha & Kailasantaha temple.
Miniature paintings are those executed on a very
small scale on perishable material such as paper,
cloth, etc., Though this style had been perfected by
artisans under the various rules, not many remain
today. Prime examples are the Rajasthani & Mughal
miniatures.Contemporary artists have kept up to the
times & excel in their modern works, giving free
expression to their imagination & artistic liberty.

device constructed or modified with the purpose of
making music. In principle, anything that produces
sound, and can somehow be controlled by a musician,
can serve as a musical instrument. The expression,
however, is reserved generally to items that have a
specific musical purpose. The academic study of
musical instruments is called organology.
Paper machie
The craft though originated
in China some 2000 years back but is comparatively
new to India. The art reached India in 14th century
with a prince, son of Sultan Sikandar who had learnt
it from the artists when in captivity in Samarkand.
Paper- Mache articles are made of waste paper
applied in layers and pressed together on wooden
moulds. Today, to save time, a thick layer of paper
pulp mixed with starch Paper Macheis alternated with
paper to get the required thickness with much less
labour. Imagination runs wild as craftsmen breath
life into this mould, bringing out a variety of
expressions on masks.
