Wildlife National Parks in India

India has preserved vast tracts of forests and habitats in its 80 national parks and 441 wildlife sanctuaries

In northern India Corbett national park and Dudhwa National Park, Nanda Devi national park in Uttaranchal, Kanha National Park in and Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya pradesh and rajasthans Ranthambore national park and sariska tiger reserve, are home to the magnificent tiger. These are also have verities of deer including the antlered barasingha and a range of lessers cats, mammals and birds.

In the northeast in Assam, the kaziranga national park with its extensive swamps and grasslands is the home of the 'Rhinoceros unicornis'-india's one horned rhino.

In the south interesting wildlife sanctuaries include the bandipur and nagarhole national park in Karnataka, the mudumalai sanctuary in Tamilnadu and preiyar national park in Kerala. The lush forests of these sanctuaries are noted for tigers, leopard and a verity of other animals like the wild boar, pangolin, slanders Loris and macaques, as also a range of colorful birds typical to thud area.

Another interesting sanctuary is the magnificent keoladeo Ghana national park with its incredible verities of birds, easily accessible from Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.

Ranthambhore National Park

Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary
